Student Services & Attendance

Student Services

This is the "go to place" for parents and students.  Located adjacent to the main office, they provide an important communication link between parents, students, and staff.  You may call Students Services at 616-850-6320 for assistance.

  • to receive a pass to ride a different bus
  • to see their school counselor or social worker
  • if the Attendance Office is closed

Where Parents Go...

  • to drop off items their child forgot (lunches, homework, permission slips, etc.)
  • to pick up and sign out their child during the school day
  • to complete/submit an authorization for for school medications
  • for information about counseling and social work services or referrals
  • if the Attendance Office is closed
  • if you want to leave a message for your student please do so BEFORE 3:00 p.m.

Attendance Office

Our Attendance Office is open until 12:45 each day and is where students take notes to leave early for any reason.  The "attendance window" is located between the Main Office and Student Services.

If a student is going to be late or absent, parents/guardians must email Erin Goossen or call the Attendance Office at 616-850-6350 to report absences.  Students will be considered unexecused if a parent/guardian does not report an absence.

If a student must leave campus during the day, a parent/guardian should contact Attendance on the event day.  The student will be given a pass do leave class to meet you at the appropriate time.  Medical notes when returning from a physician or dentist appointment need to be returned to the Attendance Office.

Planned, extended absences require the submission of a Trip Slip at least one week prior to the absences. Trips Slips must be requested in writing, either by sending a note or an email to Erin Goossen, Attendance Secretary. Verbal requests from students will not be accepted for Trip Slips. Upon the completion and return of a signed Trip Slip, the attendance office will exempt the absences.
