White Pines Intermediate School remains committed to the goal of increasing student achievement. Year after year our school exceeds state standards, receiving an “A” grade on the state of Michigan's report card.
Our dedicated, highly-qualified staff utilizes meaningful student assessment data to develop strategies and shape instruction which will assist students in academic growth. Our fifth and sixth grades are divided into teams, creating smaller learning communities for all students to reach their potential.
Our educational environment was recently enhanced with cutting edge technology through a technology bond. Each of our classrooms is equipped with computers, learning response systems, interactive whiteboards, LCD projectors, and documents cameras.
Thanks to an energy bond, White Pines was extensively renovated in 2011 to become more energy efficient, replacing an outdated boiler, installing climate control systems, replacing exterior windows and doors, adding sky lights, and other energy improvements.
One hundred percent of our teaching staff is highly qualified. In addition to the educational staff, the district also has an equal number of dedicated employees in the school lunch, transportation, and maintenance programs -- as well as in other areas -- who provide support services for the efficient operation of all school programs.
White Pines continuously looks to create new connections points for our students. Award winning programs such as our after-school tutorial program (CHILL) and our at-risk reading programming (SCORE), have helped students make remarkable gains.
With the assistance of an active Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) we strive to enrich the lives of our students through after-school activities such as Buc Blasters, various clubs, and service opportunities.
